I choose peace

They all ditched me and then they can’t stop themselves from watching me.

When they can’t stop watching me, they make themselves block me.

After they block me they feel good about themselves.

Now that they feel good about themselves, they continue with their life as if they never knew me.

Me? I have been ditched by my entire extended family and do you know why that is? I spoke up. I dared to speak up. Threatened with a lawsuit and I kept telling the truth.

I choose strength and not hiding behind an abusive man.

I will never not be proud of myself.

It’s a shame I’ll never have a mother or sibling, but I’d rather be honest and fulfilling an old promise to my deceased husband.

I’ll never stop being me. It stops with me. I’ll never block them, because I’ll never reach out to them. I don’t need to block who no longer exists.
