Here I go advocating again! I’ve just published another children’s book, and it’s titled Chase and the giant granuloma.

My middle boy, Chase, was diagnosed with an extremely rare tumor called a ‘giant cell granuloma’ and if you wanna see something truly devastating and scary within a child’s body, google that illness. Granulomas are 1 in 1 million people kind of rarity. Most children when they’re diagnosed with Giant Cell aren’t as lucky as Chase. Many have their entire jaw or most of their jawbone and many of their teeth removed in order to combat it. There is no known cure for giant cell granuloma, but we found an amazing doctor at Riley Hospital who tried an experimental drug. Chase is still being held up in medical circles as one of the very first success stories via medication.

The illustration is absolutely top notch. I can’t imagine it being any better. It’s written for children, so that they can see something in print that lets them know that this disease is beatable. I’ve done some research on my book, and it is the very first children’s book about a giant cell granuloma. just like my children’s book about CRPS. I’m proud of championing and advocating for my children.

When Chase very first began fighting this tumor the only times that were available for him to see his specialist at Riley was during his math class at Saint Michael’s. After missing four or five of his math classes, his teacher sent me a very nasty email, although Chase was acing that class and said that she thought it was important that he stopped missing her class so often for whatever he had going on outside of school. Chase had said that he didn’t wanna tell anybody about what he had going on, because it was very private, so I asked him if I could tell this teacher, and thus began my journey of advocation with educators and in general. And a part that I left out of the children’s book, because it is for children, is that when we left the hospital after his final scan, and they said that it had shrunk down to the size of a pea, I cried.

He was facing total reconstruction of his face if this medication did not work.

God is good!

The entire Klenotic family is pictured in this book. 🩷

It’s available on Kindle and Amazon.

I love being an author!
