Advocate

I’m an author, but before that I am a mother who has advocated for her children as needed. My youngest son was diagnosed with CRPS at age 11. It was Hell on earth, because it’s the very most painful disease that exists. He fought it for 3 1/2 years, and the depth of pain is unimaginable. I advocated with educators, physicians, hospitals, and strangers as they yelled at us for parking in handicapped parking. Yes, that happened and trust me when I say each time it happened that person instantly regretted talking to me that way. My child was fighting something invisible that many physicians know nothing about. I had to educate many physicians what complex regional pain syndrome is.

I continue to educate and advocate via writing and podcast interviews. Here’s to advocating today, tomorrow, and every day after that.
