Success is measured by everyone in their own way. Are you a success in your career, but you thank those who have helped you?
I’m successful in becoming a published author and I always give thanks the lady who helped get me there. Dee Dee Scott was integral in getting my memoir published and she also taught me to always believe in myself. I briefly thought that my story was unusual and maybe not what people would enjoy reading. I grew up in an abusive home, but my heart has been beating for the young man who married me, saved me, and called me hours after he died.
I’ve been a different person since that event and now that my biggest secret (that is attached to my biggest loss) is being read by people all over the world, I feel different. I feel relief in sharing something that I treasured. Heaven is real and now that message is out there via podcast interviews, newspaper articles, and public speaking events.
I was a baby bird when I wrote and searched for a person to help me publish See You Later. I began to grow and teeter on the edge of the nest the more that I wrote. My feathers began to appear and my learning nature had me wanting more education about self publication. The lady who helped me publish my books used Microsoft works and I don’t have that, so I had to educate myself and learn a different format. I utilized Kindle Create and Google Docs. And it was incredibly scary, but I did it! I’m glad I gave it a try and now I can move forward and write to my hearts content. I will be forever grateful to Dee Dee.
This author journey is far from over and I’m standing on my own two feet!
